The Crosstown Showdown for the girls and boys soccer teams, last Friday, March 22, were the final soccer district games ending in victories for both teams.
The boys won 2-1 over the Lions. Goals were scored by Spencer Sarkissian, with the game winning goal by Drew Reynolds with only 53 seconds left.
The girls owned their game with a 7-0 win. Cat Sears secured two goals along with Morgan Westbury, Anna Voss, Micaella Swain, Olivia Witte, and Caydie Currin all contributing to the win.
At the end of district, both teams have secured a spot in the playoffs, the boys finishing third in district and the girls finishing second.
Thursday, March 28, both teams take the field for the first playoff game. The girls play at 5:30 at Kimbrough Stadium against Wylie and the boys play at 7:30 at Homer B. Johnson Stadium against Sachse.
Help send both teams off at “Kiss the Bronco” this week on Thursday. The girls will “Kiss the Bronco” at 12:30 and the boys will at 12:55.
